Department of Patient Affairs
Head: Mr B. Phatshwane (Assistant Director)
Overview
During August 2001 the Patient Administration Department was restructured. This was done after consultation with the Senior Admin Officers during 2000.
The aim being:
- To impact new ideas into the sections, and offer the officer concerned a change of scene. Although there seemed to be some doubts at first, most have now settled in and are looking forward to delivering a better patient service.
- To introduce the concept of business managers, by making use of the existing SAOs & AOs. These managers would be used in the new cost centre sections together with the nursing managers and heads of departments.
The following divisions have been identified:
- Neurology, Cardiology, Renal Unit, Medical wards, Aids Clinic, Psychiatry (Mrs Kgetsi)
- Maternity Hospital, Gynaecology (Mr Kanyane)
- Paediatric departments, PNS (Ms Mofokeng)
