Innovations

A subspecialty clinic at St John was established and now provides more focused and expert care for retinal, glaucoma, uveitis, orbital/oculoplastic corneal and paediatric patients. This also improves the ability to train Registrars.

An optic disc analyser, a digital imaging system, a hand held autorefractor and a new sophisticated microscope for complicated retinal surgery are available.

Chief Professional Nurse N Damba retired at the end of 2000 and is sorely missed.
