Projects

During 1999 the Department of Social Work initiated a Development Project with the aim to create personnel awareness of the existing poverty patients are experiencing due to poor socio-economic backgrounds.

The project is also aimed at alleviating non-compliance of patients to treatment, resulting in relapses and frequent hospitalisation. The project is a long-term aid to the patients.

Over the period September 2000 to September 2001 this department has seen a total number of 16'576 patients, all inclusive.
